According to current government guidelines, the hall will be open for business as usual with no restriction on numbers. Individual hirers should make their own decisions with regard to social distancing and Covid related matters such as wearing face masks and should follow the guidelines of their governing body. Needless to say, any hirers should always bear in mind protecting the community as a whole with regard to reducing any potential spread of the virus.
A Covid-19 risk assessment has been undertaken (here), and Special Conditions of Hire during Covid-19 drawn up (here). Additional documents prepared include a poster to be exhibited at the hall (here), first aid instructions for anyone feeling unwell at the hall (here), and cleaning notes for hirers (here).
Should the kitchen be required, this needs to be notified at the time of booking and a maximum of 2 people should use the kitchen at any one time using the hatch to serve any food or drink.
A hearing loop for the hard of hearing and upgraded AV equipment has been installed. This provides a ceiling mounted projector linked to an automatic drop-down screen. It works from an AV box in the corner of the hall and all cables are provided (with the exception of Apple Mac). The system also includes two wireless microphones and one lapel microphone which can be used anywhere in the hall.
Anyone interested in booking the hall should contact the Bookings Secretary, Helen Long, by email on firstname.lastname@example.org, or by telephone (see committee page)
PLEASE NOTE THAT BOUNCY CASTLES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE MAIN HALL
Welcome to the Welburn Village Hall Website
Our village hall is host to a wide range of Welburn and Crambeck community groups and events.
This superb venue is also the ideal place to hold your next social or business event whether you live in our Parish or elsewhere.
It is conveniently located in the pretty village of Welburn which is just a mile off the A64 between York and Malton and close to Castle Howard in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Newly built with a timber frame construction in 2007, this modern building incorporates many renewable technologies.
The Main Hall has a total capacity of 110 people for private functions such as wedding receptions or family parties. The smaller Dot Smith Room can comfortably seat up to 20 people theatre style or 14 around the meeting table. There is also a modern, well equipped kitchen. All areas have been designed with disabled access in mind.
There is also a small office which can seat a maximum of 2 people available for hire. Should you have any enquires regarding this, please contact Yvonne Myers on 01653 618610.
