Welcome to the Welburn Village Hall Website.
Our village hall is host to a wide range of Welburn and Crambeck community groups and events.
This superb venue is also the ideal place to hold your next social or business event and ensure that it’s a great success whether you live in our Parish or elsewhere.
It is conveniently located in the pretty village of Welburn which is just a mile off the A64 between York and Malton and close to Castle Howard in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Newly built with a timber frame construction in 2007, this modern building incorporates many renewable technologies.
The Main Hall has a total capacity of 110 people for private functions such as wedding receptions or family parties. The smaller Dot Smith Room can comfortably seat up to 20 people theatre style or 14 around the meeting table. There is also a modern, well equipped kitchen. All areas have been designed with disabled access in mind.
The hall is located in Church Lane, Welburn, North Yorkshire, YO60 7EG. We are a registered charity (no. 1085747) and the hall is run by volunteers from Welburn and Crambeck who manage the facility for the use of residents, local communities and friends of Welburn.
Your village hall needs you
Please become involved in the running of the village hall. New trustees are wanted and welcomed bringing new skills and energy to the present team. We are also planning to set up sub committees for specialist areas which would not require the full commitment of being a charity trustee. If you would like more information on becoming a charity trustee please contact Liz Laming 01653 618527, or feel that you would like to contribute to the running of the Village Hall by coming on to one of our committees please let Yvonne Myers know 01653 618610.
Changes are afoot
The existing conveyance document that enabled the creation of Welburn Village Hall Institute has been reviewed and found to be outdated in a number of areas. In order to rectify these shortcomings the charity trustees feel that the village hall should become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
Please come to a short meeting on Tuesday 14th August at 7.30pm in the Village Hall when you will have the opportunity to understand the reasons for the change, what the change means and to ask questions
